Exercise 1: Lead Magnet Design

  • The exact problem it solves
  • The format and delivery method
  • The perceived value proposition
  • How it connects to your paid offerings
Select your strongest lead magnet and write the signup page copy.

Exercise 2: Welcome Series Outline

Write a 5-email welcome series outline. For each email, specify:
  • Send timing
  • Subject line
  • Primary purpose
  • Key content points
  • Desired action
Ensure the series builds trust before introducing any promotional content.

Exercise 3: Segmentation Plan

Identify the three most important segments for your business. For each segment, describe:
  • Defining characteristics
  • Typical interests and needs
  • Appropriate message frequency
  • Content and offer types that resonate
  • How you will identify and assign subscribers to this segment

Exercise 4: Automation Map

Map one complete automated sequence beyond the welcome series. Options include:
  • Abandoned cart recovery
  • Post-purchase onboarding
  • Re-engagement for inactive subscribers
  • Educational course delivery
Specify the triggers, timing, content, and desired outcomes for each step.

Exercise 5: Deliverability Audit

Evaluate your current or planned email setup:
  • Do you have SPF, DKIM, and DMARC implemented?
  • What is your current or target sender reputation?
  • How will you monitor delivery, open, click, bounce, and spam rates?
  • What is your list cleaning schedule?
  • How will you handle inactive subscribers?
