The Digital Ecosystem Workbook

Complete these exercises to design your digital ecosystem before moving to Module 3.

Exercise 1: Hub Definition

Describe your primary hub. Will it be a website, an app, or another platform? List the three main functions it must perform (attract, engage, convert). Identify the primary actions you want visitors to take.

Exercise 2: Spoke Selection

Using the platform selection framework, evaluate at least five potential platforms. Rank them by priority. Choose your top two spokes and explain why they fit your audience, format, business model, and resources.

Exercise 3: Website Structure Map

Draw or describe the structure of your website. Include all essential pages. For each page, write the primary purpose and the main call-to-action. Ensure every page connects logically to others.

Exercise 4: Analytics Setup Plan

List the five most important metrics for your business. For each metric, identify how you will track it and what tool you will use. Define at least three conversions you will track and assign estimated values where possible.

Exercise 5: User Experience Audit

Visit three websites in your industry. Evaluate them using the three-second test. Note what works and what fails. Apply these observations to your own website plans.
